2 Militants, Police Officer Killed in Attack on Police Post in Pakistan

Two militants and a Pakistani police officer were killed when more than a dozen militants ambushed a police post Saturday in Mianwali.

By Sunday morning, police had put down the attack. Officials say the militants belonged to a branch of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistani Taliban. Police repulsed another TTP strike earlier this year in Mianwali at the Makkarwal police station. Two militants were also killed in that strike. .
